Issue Position

As Pennsylvania has one of the largest senior citizen populations in the United States, we must make sure that our seniors continue to have the highest quality of life possible. It's especially apparent that there is a lack of support from the legislature to improve the current state of senior care across the state. Here in the 117th district, we need to focus on:

Creating new senior housing for those who cannot stay in their home. The senior population has increased in 117th while the amount of available housing has not. In conjunction with this, the state and federal government need to work together to renovate current senior housing to ensure a more comfortable place to live.
Ensure that health services are available to all who need them. Our seniors have worked their entire lives and should be able to enjoy retirement without worrying about having medical care.
Expand benefit coverage for medications and lower the cost of outpatient treatments that many seniors require.
Provide more community services and activities specifically geared toward seniors.
